Aunt’s Pride and Honor

3 June 2010 No Comment

Im Ms. Elvie A. Canencia, a SPED teacher in TOGETHER. Having been here for almost four years in this learning institution is more of a blessing for me and for my 5 year old nephew named, Andrey C. Ala.

I decided to enroll Andrey under the Buddy Program, an alternative day care option wherein a normal child joins a class where there is one or two student with special needs.

I can see that he learned so much from the learning areas such as; English, Math, Science, Filipino, Writing and Computer. It is also an opportunity for him to be with special children; to socialize and understand their needs. I am so proud that he became a part of helping our students to develop their socialization skills, communication skills and even play skills while learning from his academes.

He is off to Grade I as of today, I as his aunt have seen the developments and the learnings that he acquired from the center. Receiving three awards; Best in Math, Best in Writing and Service Award is such a great accomplishment.

What inspires me is that after graduating from the Buddy Program, he also enrolled in DedEd Summer Training in a Public School for a month duration. He excelled brightly in that training because of the learnings gained in this school. He earned awards; Best in Writing, Striver Award and Most Neat. Among his other classmates, he garnered the most number of awards.

Andrey made me happy and proud for his achievements in this center. Indeed, he was molded into someone so knowledgeable and I would like to thank TOGETHER for filling thoughts of Education to my nephew’s mind. Thank You and God Bless
